The number of people claiming Jobseeker's Allowance in Reigate and Banstead has risen for the first time this year.
According to figures released today by the Office for National Statistics the number of claims rose in September to 812 from 810 in August marking the first increase since January when claims increased to 1,233 from 1,158.
But despite the increase this month claims for unemployment benefits in the borough remain at their lowest since 2008.
And claims are continuing to fall in Surrey with 5,478 claims made in September making it eight straight months the number has fallen.
