Everton are keen on signing the out of favour Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa before the start of the new season.
Rumours have been circulating since Newcastle revealed their squad numbers, with Ben Arfa losing his preferred number 10 shirt to new signing Siem de Jong.
The playmaker only featured 14 times last campaign and is not likely to be in Alan Pardew's plans moving forward.
Roberto Martinez expressed his desire to sign Ben Arfa back in April and with the midfielder getting the number 26 shirt, he could be poised to leave before they host Manchester City on August 17th.
