ONE of the biggest events on the Reigate calendar, which usually attracts more than 5,000 visitors, returns in two weeks' time.
Reigate Community Festival, first held in 2009 to celebrate the reopening of Priory Park, is being held on the last weekend of June.
The annual event, organised by the Reigate Events Collective, boasts a mix of displays, stands, live music and children's entertainment, including Tommy Matthews Fairground.
The theme for 2014 is the Edwardian Era, and the 100th anniversary of the First World War. Prizes will be handed to those arriving in fancy dress.
This year an acoustic lounge has been added to the bill, offering live music throughout the day, including the Redstone Community Big Band, Andy Moore, and Dee Bee Blues, Dark Ages, and Stephanie Davies and the Super Dynamics, Mr Anchovy, Jason Kydd, Tin Soldiers and Sofia Ford.
The Arena programme will include the Band of the Surrey Yeomanry, Sky Birds of Prey, Hipsinc Belly Dancing, Students from the Italia Conti School, the Rock Choir, Star Steppers and the Tug of War final, heats for which will be held throughout the day.
There will also be a military presence and displays honouring Royal Armed Forces Day.
Entry is free for everyone, and free parking is also available throughout the day at all Reigate and Banstead Borough Council car parks.
