THIS takeaway fried chicken meal may look "finger lickin' good", but really it's an intricate birthday cake.
Laura Stockton, of Leigh, baked the astonishing creation for her husband, Kyle, with the help of her two children.
With his birthday coming up on April 6, she was stuck for ideas, so turned to them for advice.
Mrs Stockton said: "I did the silly thing and said to them 'Daddy's birthday is coming up and what should we do?'
"My oldest, Josh, turned around and said, 'What about KFC, mummy? A chicken bucket – he likes all that'."
The Kentucky Fried Chicken cake took four hours to make, with everything visible constructed from cake, even the chicken, which Mrs Stockton made from Rice Krispies, cornflakes and marshmallows.
The 28-year-old added: "I'm still getting over the amount of attention this cake has got. God knows how many people have shared it on Facebook.
"My husband's workmates have had arguments with their kids and their wives because they do not believe it is real cake."
Despite the intricate nature of her creations, Mrs Stockton has had no formal training. However, she has enjoyed baking since she was young.
"When I grew up, my mum and dad did cakes for friends and family," she explained. "My mum would bake and my dad would do the decorating and I used to just sit and watch them. It's gone from there, really."
Mrs Stockton, who has two sons, Josh, eight, and Harry, five, has just started up her own baked treats business, Occasionally Yours. This offers everything from boxed cupcake collections to extravagant wedding cakes.
