POLICE have launched a man hunt after flashers who exposed themselves to two sets of schoolgirls. Officers are not ruling out suggestions the two incidents, which happened within a month of each other, are linked. On March 13, between 4.15pm and 4.45pm, four girls saw a man exposing himself as they walked through Burgh Heath Wood. Although the group were alarmed, the man did not attempt to talk to, or touch, them and they ran off to a place of safety before calling an adult to collect them. The offender is described as a white man, around 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, with very short grey hair, and aged in his 40s. He was wearing a flat cap, a dark coloured coat with a grey top underneath, dark navy jeans and trainers. A similar incident occurred at around 4.25pm on one day from February 10-16, but was only reported to Surrey Police a month later on March 15. This occurred when two schoolgirls were walking along Tattenham Way, Tadworth, and saw a man indecently exposing himself next to a car parked at the location. The offender is described as white, aged in his late 40s, of medium build, bald and was wearing long black knee-length coat, dark blue jeans and a chequered shirt. Investigating officer PC Gemma Taylor, said: "First of all I must commend the bravery of the young girls involved. On each occasion they showed a high level of maturity in dealing with a serious situation which they should not have had to deal with at such a young age. "At this stage in the investigation we are keeping an open mind to whether the incidents are linked due to the location of each offence and the suspect descriptions. "If you have your suspicions around someone you know, please contact officers with information as we need to find this man and bring him to justice for his actions. "No doubt these incidents will have caused some concern in the local area and officers will be working with local schools and providing reassurance patrols in the vicinity. "It may be that there are further witnesses out there, who for whatever reason have not yet contacted officers with information, I would urge these people to do so as they may have information vital to our investigation." Call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference 45140019760, with information or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
