Surrey Ladies League Division Five
Oxted II 6 Barnes III 0
OXTED improved their chances of securing second spot in Division Five by completing an emphatic last day win over league champions Barnes.
Oxted could not have made a better start with Kirsty Browne's long ball into the D being deflected for an own goal within 30 seconds. From that point the game was only going one way. Browne thumped home the first short corner as Oxted dominated. By half-time it was 3-0 as Browne hammered in another short corner.
Barnes fought back but Beth Sharp was not to be beaten and play moved rapidly down the other end. As the Barnes keeper saved a Browne short corner strike Alison Langham dived in to follow up into the net. The final action of the season was left to Sarah Langham who leapt high to celebrate sweeping the ball under the keeper.
Oxted finish the season second in the league and wait for news of potential promotion hopes which depend on the outcome of Spencer's game in hand.
