Police have arrested four people in the ongoing probe into an armed robbery in Tattenham Corner.
The incident occurred at around 10.30am on Wednesday January 30 outside the Co-operative store on Tattenham Crescent, when a cash delivery driver was assaulted and threatened with what is believed to be a firearm before the offenders left the scene with around £45,000.
Now, a man in his 20s, who was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, has been further arrested on suspicion of burglary and money laundering. A man in his 40s from Battersea was also arrested yesterday (Wednesday) on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and money laundering. Both men have been released on police bail until Tuesday July 23.
Two other people, a woman in her 20s from Battersea, and a man in his 20s from Brixton, have also been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and have been released on police bail until Tuesday September 17.
Since the offence occurred a number of search warrants have been executed in the Box Hill area of Mole Valley, Wandsworth and Battersea as part of the investigation.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Paul Rymarz, said: "This is very much still a live investigation into a violent robbery on a cash-delivery-driver in the Tattenham Corner area.
"This is a complex inquiry but I hope the four arrests which have made in connection with this incident go some way to reassure the public that we are carrying out a full and thorough investigation.
"I continue to urge anyone who has any information on this offence, whether they witnessed the incident, saw the car used in the offence parked nearby following the robbery, or has their suspicions around someone they know and have for whatever reason been unable to share this with detectives to come forward.
"All information passed to us will be treated in the strictest of confidence or if you would like to provide details anonymously the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted."
