CHIPSTEAD Football Club chairman Geoff Corner says Kevin Rayner's experience at non-league level was a key factor in offering him the job.
The former Guildford City boss was named as the Chips' new manager earlier today (Wednesday) and Corner says he was pleased to have got his man.
He said: "He will bring with him experienced of managing at our level and he has done very well at Guildford, having won promotion [from the Combined Counties League Premier Division] and finished a very credible ninth in the [Evo Stik Southern League Division One Central] league this season.
"He is very enthusiastic and we were vey impressed with his plans for the club.
"We hope he will bring stability to the club and we are very pleased to have him here."
Corner added that the hard work would now start as he meets with Rayner to discuss arrangements for pre-season, while he said Rayner would be assessing his current squad at High Road and identifying potential targets in the coming weeks.
