IT WAS just a purr-fect day when the Cats Protection Homing Show came to Reigate.
About 25 cats in need of rehoming, together with dozens of potential new owners, were at the Colman Redland Centre, off Croydon Road, on Sunday.
Many of the moggies on display were in the difficult-to-rehome category – meaning they are elderly or need medication.
But initial interest was high and about 20 of the cats may have found new owners.
Volunteers from the Crawley, Reigate and district branch of Cats Protection will now make home visits to check the prospective new owners are suitable.
Cats Protection asks the would-be owners for an adoption fee when re-homing a cat, although any donations on top of the fee are gratefully received.
The branch homes more than 400 cats annually. Each cat has been health checked, started their vaccinations, neutered if old enough, microchipped, and treated for worms and fleas.
The next homing show will be in Horley in February, on a date and location to be confirmed.
