REDHILL'S online community will have the chance to put a face to the Twitter handle tonight at a revived networking event.
Tonight (Wednesday, Nov 26), for the first time in three years, a "tweet-up" will be held at Redhill's Home Cottage pub, bringing together users of the social networking site living in the area.
The monthly get-togethers were first held a few years ago, but stopped when organiser Wendy Ager had children.
Now, she is resurrecting the evenings with fellow businesswoman Fiona Stewart.
Wendy, who lives in Coulsdon but grew up in Redhill and Woodhatch said: "Recently I'd been thinking of starting them up when one of the old regulars Tweeted me asking if I would and that got it started.
"To me, a Tweetup is just a meet up mainly organised on Twitter and I feel it should be a social, although I know some people have been to ones that are paid for events with a definite business aspect.
"I think it's a good opportunity to meet the people you connect with online face to face and put names to real faces.
"I also organise the Croydon Tweetups which are monthly and we have a great set of regulars who welcome all newbies and it's creating a great community of supportive and positive people.
"We hope to resurrect this and continue it in the Redhill and Reigate area too. There is already a buzz on Twitter about it."
The evening will begin at 7.30pm at Home Cottage. For more information click here.
