PLANS by wealthy Middle Eastern royals to corral exclusive homes in Kingswood are set to be given the go-ahead.

Six multimillion-pound homes in the Kingswood Warren development were snapped up in May by a family believed to be members of an Arab royal family.

However tensions between their existing neighbours quickly rose when six-foot fences were put up around some of the homes without planning permission.

The owners, under the name of Symphony Limited, have since applied for approval, which Reigate and Banstead Borough Council's planning committee looked were likely to grant at a meeting last night (Wednesday).

The applicants also want to complete the perimeter fencing around the six homes in Beech Drive and Kingswood Warren Park as well as plant screening hedges and 18 new trees.

They also want to enclose a section of the open land in front of the homes.

A new turning point for large vehicles is also proposed to replace the existing one, which would be removed.

In a report to the committee a planning officer said the proposals "would not materially harm" the area.
