LIVERPOOL could move to sign AC Milan and Italy defender Ignazio Abate as a replacement for Glen Johnson, according to reports.
The England full-back has been linked with a move away from Anfield with his contract due to expire in June, and Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly looking for potential replacements.
And the Daily Mirror is reporting that Italian full-back Abate, 27, could be an option for the Reds, with his contract also set to run out in the summer.
The Mirror is, however, reporting that Liverpool could look to sign him in January in a cut-price deal.
