A hero Reigate policeman who helped to save a man from a Woldingham hillside is heading to Downing Street today following his nomination for a bravery award.
PC Ben Dove has been nominated for a National Police Bravery Award after his action on May 15 last year when he responded to reports of a missing man who had previously attempted to harm himself.
When the man's car was found abandoned near a quarry, PC Dove searched nearby woods as a police helicopter circled overhead.
PC Dove found the man and pulled him back from the danger of the quarry edge before leading him to safety unharmed.
