A CENTENARIAN officially opened Oxted's new-look post office. Bert Atkinson, 101 next month, was at the opening of the Station Road West branch just after the First World War.
He returned this week for a ribbon-cutting ceremony following refurbishment.
The store now has one screened position and two open-plan counters which make it easier for staff and customers to talk.
The branch is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5.30pm, giving customers an extra five hours at the weekend.
Nidhi Prashar, who has been postmaster for 20 years, said: "Customers are loving the refurbished Post Office and store and find it hard to believe they are in the same building."
