IT'S NO wonder a group of green-fingered youngsters at a Caterham school are all smiles.
The pupils at Audley Primary School in Whyteleafe Road won a tallest sunflower competition, run by Knights Garden Centre in Chelsham. Their winning sunflower grew to a towering height of 273 centimetres, a fraction under nine feet.
They were presented with a £20 garden centre voucher and a bag of seeds by the centre's manager Frank Holland.
Accompanying the children were Audley's new head teacher Brian Grogan and parent governor Samantha Rogers, who is involved in the gardening project.
