FA Cup 2nd qualifying round att: 321 Referee: Matthew Goldsmith Redhill 2-1 Tonbridge Angels Redhill caused a FA Cup upset against Ryman Premier Division side Tonbridge Angels in the second qualifying round in front of an impressive turnout at the Kiln Brow. A free-kick from Sam Butler set the Lobsters on their way in what was a comfortable first half as Joe Bingham scored the second just before half-time. The second half saw a determined Tonbridge outfit come out the blocks with Redhill putting men behind the ball. Billy Medlock grabbed one back for the visitors but the Lobsters held on for an impressive victory. Redhill contained the ball well in the opening exchanges but never provided any threat in the final third as Tonbridge were slowly making their way into the game with Alex Teniola floating in the spaces alongside Billy Medlock. With 20 minutes on the clock Redhill took the lead when Jerome Sobers, trying to atone for his clearance, fouled Joe Bingham on the edge of the box and the resulting free-kick was executed perfectly by Sam Butler. The goalscorer was forced off soon after with an injury to be replaced by Jevlon Campbell upfront. The goal failed to kick life into a lacklustre Angels performance, as their passes weren't finding their intended targets and top scorer Billy Medlock was being kept quiet. The home side managed to make the most of their first half control five minutes before the end of the half as Fiachra McArdle dribbled past two Tonbridge defenders before cutting back to the oncoming Joe Bingham to make it 2-0 to Redhill. Five minutes into the second half Sobers went down clutching his groin and had to be replaced by Nathan Campbell in the centre of defence with Lee Carey taking over captaincy. Redhill were happy to sit and soak up the pressure in the second half with ten men often being put behind the ball after their good work in the first half. The tempo was building from the Angels and on the hour mark Medlock got his name on the score-sheet after Jack Parkinson's shot was well saved from Michael Hunter but the Tonbridge striker was alive to the rebound to tap home. Tonbridge started to find space where they weren't in the first half and Medlock almost found his second of the game if it weren't for another great save from Hunter. Tonbridge did have the ball in the back of the net on 70 minutes when Teniola rose with the goalkeeper to finish but was disallowed for offside. Nathan Campbell was next for Tonbridge to try his best and equalise from a Lee Carey corner but his header hit the post to the relief of the home side. Redhill were defending valiantly into stoppage time and Rob Hill was alive to the danger when Harrison Tweddle got in behind the defence to strike under Hunter but the left back cleared off the line to maintain his side's lead. Despite Tonbridge's pressure throughout the second half they failed to find the equalising goal meaning Redhill progress to the next round of the FA Cup and just two rounds away from the first round proper.
