A STUDENT at Dunottar School in Reigate has spent part of her summer studying physics at the University of Cambridge.
Out of 400 applicants across the UK who sat a gruelling maths and physics aptitude test, Francesca Webb, 17, was one of just 70 teenagers selected to tackle a Senior Physics Challenge (SPC).
The five-day summer school programme, run by the university's physics department, aimed to make studying the subject at a higher level more accessible.
Francesca, who plans to study physics at university, said: "I couldn't believe it when I arrived at Corpus Christi College.
"I'm very grateful to Dr Sookhun who suggested that I apply for the SPC. It was a fantastic opportunity that gave me an excellent insight into university-level physics. I really enjoyed being there with like-minded people and also sharing maths jokes."
