BRITISH Transport Police has confirmed the man killed by a rush hour train at Horley station yesterday (Thursday) was from Thornton Heath.
The 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.
Emergency serviceswere called to the station shortly after8.20am yesterday to reports a man had been hit by a train.
Southern Railway services were delayed for most of the morning and Gatwick Express trains were suspended until the afternoon.
A BTP spokesman added the man's identity would be confirmed next week.
