TWO of East Surrey's top young dancers will be joining professional ballet stars on stage.

Jordan Brown, 17, of Caterham, and Isabel Parrington, 11, of Reigate, were selected after auditioning with more than 200 other young hopefuls.

Jordan will be dancing the role of a gentleman of the hunt, and Isabel the role of a villager, in an adaptation of Giselle being performed at the Bromley Churchill by the English Youth Ballet (EYB).

The young dancers are currently taking part in an intensive ten days of rehearsals ahead of the performances on August 15 and 16.

The show gives Jordan and Isabel the opportunity to gain insight into the life of a professional ballet dancer and work alongside EYB's international principal artists.

British principal ballerina Julianne Rice Oxley said: "Working in a professional environment gives the students a unique insight into life in a ballet company.

"I feel very privileged to be a principal with the EYB as I get to work with some of the UK's most talented young dancers."

Jordan will be graduating from the world-renowned Brit School this month and has secured a place at the prestigious Institute of Contemporary Music to start in September.
