THREE lambs have been killed throughout the last month in the Tandridge area, prompting a police appeal for the culprit.
The lambs have been killed in three separate incidents, but all were found with teeth marks from a dog and each had been cut with a knife.
Two of the lambs were found dead in a field in Tandridge Lane. The first between 3.30pm on July 31 and 10am on August 1, and the second between 7pm on July 6 and 12.41pm on July 7.
The third occurred at a field in Moor Lane, Edenbridge at 11.15am on July 9.
Investigating Officer PC Alice Bennett said: "These appear to have been deliberate attacks which have left defenceless lambs dead and are incredibly upsetting for the farmers who are also left out of pocket.
"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in these areas to get in touch and to be mindful of anything that you may see in the future.
"Dog owners have a responsibility to keep their dogs under control at all times when walking close to fields with livestock in. To allow your pet to chase livestock is totally unacceptable."
