BOWLS: Nan Bennett, Mary Thornton, Brian Wilson, June Bourne and Bette Wearing won this year's Hugh Thornton Memorial Trophy, played at Horley Bowls Club.
The trophy was inaugurated last year following the death of a very well-liked long standing club member Hugh Thornton, and was donated to the club in his memory by his wife, Mary.
The competition is now played yearly when around 40 bowlers take part in a round robin tournament playing all day through to the final in the evening.
