THE funeral of Banstead mother and son Nicola Morris and Kai Arnold who died in a car crash two weeks ago is being held today (Friday).
Residents are being asked to pay their respects as the cortege makes its way from Woodmansterne, where Kai went to school, to Banstead High Street before going on to a private family service.
At 12.30pm, the cortege will circle around Woodmansterne School before heading to The Woodman pub and down Woodmansterne Lane. It will reach Banstead High Street at 12.40pm and travel the length of the road. A minute's silence will also be held here.
There has been a huge outpouring of grief in the community since the collision in Banstead Road, Ewell, on July 5.
Petitions have been launched to install safety measures on the road, and money is being raised to install a memorial bench in Woodmansterne.
