THE bare fact is Oxted Beer Festival was a huge success – despite the intervention of a streaker.
An estimated 10,000 visitors converged on Master Park for the three-day event, which finished on Sunday.
Apart from 125 varieties of real ale on offer, there were plenty of diversions for the large crowds – not least the streaker who ran onto the cricket pitch on Saturday afternoon.
Ales on offer included eye-catching names such as Betty Stogs, Alchemist and Battle of Britain.
Also to tempt the palate was a range of cocktails, cider and lager – or alternatively Thai food, pizzas, curries and Jamaican patties.
Four cricket matches and eight live bands also provided exciting entertainment.
Festival co-organiser Peter Hanrott said: "It was a fantastic weekend and we got some great feedback from visitors.
"The numbers are quite staggering.
"About 11,000 pints of real ale were consumed and almost 3,000 pints of lager.
"Pizzas and Jamaican patties both sold out on Sunday afternoon."
Mr Hanrott praised the festival's project manager Sam Hasler for helping to ensure things went so efficiently.
Mrs Hasler is otherwise known for her spectacular Christmas and Hallowe'en lights display at her home in Barrow Green, Oxted.
The weekend was staged by the Oxted and Limpsfield Community Sports Association.
Proceeds from the festival will support the development of local sports clubs.
