POLICE believe two recent burglaries in Horley are linked.
A property in Southlands Avenue and another in Fallowfield Way were both broken into in broad daylight last Wednesday.
Jewellery was taken in both incidents.
Police believe the suspects gained entry to the Southlands Avenue property through a back door between 9.45am and 3pm, after going through the garden. They then closed the blinds and chain-locked the front door so they were not seen or disturbed.
Neighbours heard a dog barking at about 11.30am and CCTV shows a white male in a grey top knocking on the front door at the same time – officers are eager to speak to this person.
In Fallowfield Way, police believe the suspects gained entry by smashing a hole in a rear uPVC window at about 12.30pm to reach the door lock. They then went upstairs and stole a jewellery box before splitting up and making off. Officers are keen to speak to two men seen in the area at the time.
One is described as white, clean shaven, in his mid-20s, 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build, with short cropped dark hair and brown eyes. He was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a long sleeved top. The second male is described as white, in his mid-20s, of medium build, around 5ft 9ins tall. He was wearing a matching tracksuit and a beanie hat.
