NOMINATIONS are open to reward the community's unsung heroes who give up their time for people in Reigate and Banstead.
Dedicated individuals, groups and businesses can be nominated for the Mayor's Volunteer Awards, run by the borough council and Reigate and Banstead Voluntary Service.
Last year, nominees included village groups, schools, sports organisations, and befrienders.
Nominations are invited in six categories: individual volunteer (aged over 25 years); young volunteer (up to 25 years); volunteer team; trustee (individual); trustee team; and the business award.
Borough mayor Councillor Lynne Hack said: "For the first time, we are looking to recognise the contribution of the business community to charities and good causes locally.
"More than a few companies encourage their staff to volunteer time, or ask them to raise funds in inventive ways."
For details or to nominate, visit www.reigate-banstead. gov.uk/mayorsawards or call Reigate and Banstead Volunteer Service on 01737 763156.
The deadline for nominations is May 23.
Nominees must either live or volunteer within the borough of Reigate and Banstead and receive no remuneration for their time.
