A MAN was knocked unconscious during an attempted robbery near Redhill McDonald's yesterday.
The 18-year-old was on his mobile phone at 6pm as he left the restaurant when he was punched and kicked by a trio of men, which caused him to lose consciousness for several minutes.
During the assault, near the restaurant in Station Road, the attackers tried to steal his mobile phone.
The victim was taken to hospital but was released later that evening.
An 18-year-old of Malmstone Avenue, Merstham and two males aged 18 and 20 of Eastbourne Road, Blindley Heath, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and have been bailed until May 26.
Investigating Officer Detective Sergeant Antony Preston said: "It was a busy time of the day at the scene of the incident and we believe there are many more witnesses that could come forward to help us with our enquiries.
"It may be that you didn't see the actual attack happen but saw the build up to it inside the restaurant, or that you saw the attack but not what happened prior to it.
