SURREY batsman Kevin Pietersen will play in this year's Caribbean Premier League (CPL), it has been announced.
Pietersen, who is no longer part of England's plans for international cricket, is likely to feature more for Surrey this season.
But, after activating a secondment agreement in his contract with Surrey, England's all-time leading run scorer will also now feature as one of the star attractions in the draft for the CPL on Thursday, April 3.
Pietersen, who will also captain the Delhi Daredevils in this year's Indian Premier League, said that as soon as he was approached, he knew he wanted to be a part of the tournament.
He added that he had fond memories of playing in the Caribbean with England, winning the ICC World T20 back in 2010, and said that he could not wait to play in front of the fans there again.
The tournament takes place in July and August.
