A FREE-RANGE chicken caused a flap in Caterham today.
But it was an egg-cellent outcome when the hapless bird was eventually caught after police intervened in Stafford Road at around lunchtime.
It prompted the comment on Surrey Police's Tandridge Beat Facebook page: "We are scrambling together all the resources we can get."
The chicken had been seen strutting in nearby Milner Road on Tuesday evening.
It is not know why the bird was trying to cross Stafford Road.
