TWO men burst into a pub in a pre-dawn raid and threatened a woman with a knife. The terrifying break-in happened at the Greyhound pub in Charlwood at 5.30am this morning. A woman in her 30s was woken by the two raiders, who threatened her with a knife before forcing her to open the safe. They made off with what police are describing as "an amount of cash". Police remain at the scene and investigators are working to establish how much money was taken during the burglary. Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Paul Gordon, said: "At this stage in the investigation we believe the property was specifically targeted because the burglars made very detailed demands and I am sure someone will be able to link the pieces together and provide us with information on the offenders. "Has someone you know been spending time in this area? Were they away from home during the early hours of this morning? Have they been acting suspiciously since the offence? If you believe you know the person responsible, please provide us with information. "I understand, for whatever reason some people may wish to provide information anonymously and they can do this through the independent charity Crimestoppers who can be contacted on 0800 555 111. "If you can help us in any way with our investigation, please contact us as a matter of urgency and all information passed to us will be treated in the strictest of confidence. "This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim and we will do all we can to bring those responsible to justice." One of the offenders is described as white and spoke with a London accent. A full area search was carried out by response officers following the raid and uniformed officers from the Mole Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team are currently in the area assisting detectives with their investigation. Anyone who can help the investigation is urged to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45140019424 or Crimestoppers.
