A 41-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a Horley bus stop. John Baboony, of Heston Road, Redhill, was sentenced to 20 months after admitting the offence in Victoria Road, on June 5 last year, and for another charge of breaching a suspended sentence.
Appearing at Guildford Crown Court on Friday, he was handed 10 months for each, with the two sentences to run consecutively. He was also placed on the sex offenders' register for ten years.
Speaking after the hearing, investigating officer Detective Constable Gemma Scott, of the Sexual Offences Investigation Team, said: "I must commend the bravery of the young victim who demonstrated a high level of maturity throughout the legal process and helped bring this man to justice.
"I hope the sentence handed to Baboony will give her closure and allow her to move on."
