Reigate Priory Athletic Club duo Lucy Broderick and Lily Grant hae been selected to run for surrey schools.
The pair, who are both Year 6 pupils at Reigate Priory Junior School, have been selected to compete in the Year 7 National Schools Inter-Counties Cross Country Match being held in Essex later this month. This follows their outstanding performances at the Surrey Schools Cross Country Championships earlier this year when in a highly competitive race, with 134 competitors, Lily finished 2nd and Lucy 4th. The girls selection means a remarkable fourteen RPAC young athletes have run for the strong Surrey Schools team at Cross Country this season across the various age groups.
Both girls were part of the successful U13G Cross Country team at RPAC this year that finished 2nd in the Surrey Ladies XC League (15 Clubs) with the only club ahead of them, Herne Hill Harriers, the current Southern and National XC Champions. Earlier in the season, in the Southern Road Relays the U13G also set a club record for the fastest aggregate team time.
