POLICE have this afternoon joined appeals to help find a Dorking schoolgirl.
Officers say they are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Nicole Kenway, last seen in South Street, Dorking, at around 3.50pm yesterday.
Nicole has made no contact with friends or family since and her parents' frantic calls to her mobile have been met only with the answerphone.
Her father Dom, of Flint Hill Close, Dorking, told the Advertiser that police had traced her phone to a location in London this morning, as he made an emotional appeal for her to get in contact.
Police said this afternoon: "Since Nicole was reported missing last night a number of enquiries have been made in the area and it is now believed Nicole may be in the central London area and Surrey Police are liaising with the Metropolitan Police Service as part of the investigation.
"Although Nicole's disappearance is out of character there is nothing to suggest that she has come to any harm and officers would appeal to Nicole to make contact with them or a family member or friend."
PC Steve Gillick, added: "We are working on a number of enquiries which we are hopeful will help us locate Nicole and I would urge anyone who is able to assist us with our investigation to contact police as a priority.
"I would like to reassure Nicole that she is not in any trouble, we just want to ensure her safe return."
Anyone who can help officers locate Nicole is asked to contact Surrey Police on 101 or the charity Missing people on 116 000. All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
