OXTED seconds avenged a 2-0 defeat earlier at Rayne's Park in November by beating London Wayfarers II 2-0 in the London League Division One.
Wayfarers were extremely disciplined, sitting deep in their press and pouncing on any loose passes or chasing hard to win the ball back.
Oxted dominated possession but were looking far too relaxed, turning over cheap possession carelessly. The Reds however won the first penalty corner – Rob Wilson's deflection narrowly missing.
It took a magical piece of skill by England U16 Rob Durling to open the scoring. Durling took possession just inside the circle, faked past the advancing keeper and coolly slipped the ball into an open net.
Oxted went 2-0 up mid-way through the second half when Chris Webster's clever reverse pass was smashed in by a thundering first time shot from Henry Gardner. Wayfarers squandered a number of penalty corners and Tim Murphy was able to keep another clean sheet, 2-0 Oxted.
With two games left, Oxted need one win to secure the title but promotion has already been guaranteed.
