Surrey League Division Five
Oxted Ladies II 2
Old Kingstonians II 0
FOLLOWING a minutes silence to reflect on tragic events in the town, Oxted started in a subdued fashion against a lively Old Kingstionian side.
Gradually Oxted found a more secure footing in the game with many missed chances in the opening half.
It brought a change of game plan at half-time and an improved second half performance to take the game and move Oxted to second in the table.
The breakthrough came when Kirsty Browne's strong drive into the D was deflected by a defender past the goalkeeper. The second goal followed as Browne's strike from the far corner was deflected in by Alix Borley whose running had caused problems for a static midfield.
The game ended prematurely when a facial injury to Vicky MacKay encouraged the umpires to call time with a few minutes remaining.
This week Oxted look to cement their league position as they take on Spencer away.
Oxted: Beth Sharp, Suzanne Davis, Alix Borley, Bex Hynam, Naimh Conneely, Vicky Mackay, Lucy Pugh, Faye Dance, Sarah Langham, Lauren Acutt, Alison Langham, Kirsty Browne, Beth Goodliffe.
