A 16-year-old boy charged with the murder of an Oxted teenager has been detained after a court hearing this morning.
The accused, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, stands charged with the murder of Elizabeth Thomas, from West Wickham, a student at Oxted School.
It follows police being called to a property in Amy Road at around 5.20pm last Friday where they found the body.
A post mortem later confirmed she died from a stab wound.
In a five minute hearing before Redhill magistrates, the boy - who wore a black sweater and black trousers - spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
He was remanded until Monday when he will appear at Guildford Crown Court.
