A WOMAN was hospitalised after she was stamped on and had her hair pulled out during an assault in Redhill.
The violent attack took place outside McDonald's in Station Road at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, when the woman and two men were set upon by two other people.
The woman was taken to East Surrey Hospital but has since been discharged. Her two companions suffered minor injuries.
Investigating officer Dave Evans, said: "This was a violent assault and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us with information as it may be vital to our investigation.
"At this stage in our investigation we believe that the victims and the offenders are known to each other and that this was a targeted rather than a random assault."
A man and a woman, both in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of assault.
They have been released on police bail until February 13 while the investigation continues.
