A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old girl in Oxted.
Surrey Police was called to a home in Amy Road, Oxted at around 5.20pm last Friday where they found the body of Elizabeth Rose Thomas, from West Wickham, a student at Oxted School.
A post mortem later confirmed she died from a stab wound.
The boy was charged in the early hours of this morning with her murder. He is due to appear at South East Surrey Magistrates' Court in Redhill today.
Elizabeth's family have spoken of how her murder had broken their lives beyond repair.
In a heartwrenching statement, they paid tribute to the A-level student, calling her a "kind, caring, loving and gentle girl."
