JASON Puncheon's team mates have rallied around the Crystal Palace midfielder after his horrendous penalty miss at the weekend.
Puncheon blazed high, wide and not so handsome from the spot - blowing the chance to give the Eagles an early lead at Spurs, in a game they went on to lose 2-0.
Palace midfielder Adlene Guedioura said he felt sorry for Puncheon but that it was time to look ahead.
He said: "These things happen in football and I am sure he will score the next one. I couldn't see the strike properly (from the dugout), maybe it swerved a little bit, but I know Punch and he's got a great left foot.
"He scores them in training and he has done in matches so he will come back and react.
"I am sure he will score plenty of goals for Palace."
Winger Yannick Bolasie admitted he wanted to take the penalty, missed so woefully by Puncheon.
"I wanted to take the penalty, but Jason Puncheon took the last one at home so he had priority, and I thought he would have scored, to be fair," Bolasie said.
For his part, Puncheon today (Monday) hit out at radio pundit and former Palace boss Neil Warnock, for comments he made about the miss on talkSPORT.
Puncheon aimed a series of Twitter insults at Warnock, which he has since deleted, after the ex-QPR manager suggested Puncheon wasn't a natural penalty taker.
