REIGATE racing driver Max Chilton took to a more flood-proof form of transport than his Marussia Formula 1 car to brave the submerged roads.
Mr Consistency, who finished every race in his debut season, was not going for speed this morning as he took a sensible 4x4 out.
The trip was essential - he was on a mission to secure his Christmas Day turkey.
He tweeted a picture of the flooded road, with the message: "All this to go and get a turkey! Can always rely on a Land Rover when everyone else is stuck!"
