STUDENTS performed a Christmas play at a packed St Nicholas's Church in Bookham.
Pupils and teachers from the Dawnay School joined together on two consecutive nights to entertain parents with festive songs, poetry readings and instrument solos.
Speaking after the performances on December 18 and 19, teacher Lesley Andrews said: "All children in the junior department of the school attended and contributed individually and as a team, producing and presenting creative and imaginative poems and prose.
"The children all excelled in their given tasks, with tremendous courage from soloists performing for the first time, impeccable behaviour and enthusiasm for this amazing opportunity they are given and the willingness to help and support each other at what must be a daunting event on a late night at the end of a long term.
"I am sure that all those who were lucky enough to attend were very proud of the confidence, enthusiasm and maturity shown by all the children, who were a credit to the school."
