AMATEUR performers of all kinds have just over one week to make a bid for stardom at the first ever Capel's Got Talent competition.
Entrants must register by next Friday (July 19) if they wish to take place in the village's Talent And Tote night, which opens the music festival weekend next month.
Singers, jugglers, dancers, magicians and comedians are invited to show off their skills at the event, which takes place from 7.30pm on the Capel Recreation Ground on Saturday, August 17.
Each act will be given two-and-a-half minutes to impress the audience and a demanding panel of judges, who will announce the winner on the night.
The winning act will then be invited to perform again that evening and also at the Capel Music Festival on Sunday, August 18.
Capel's Got Talent, which also has a bar and food, will be followed by a race night before finishing with a disco.
Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis and successful applicants will be notified as soon as possible.
Application forms can be picked up from Carters of Capel, Capel News and the St Catherine's Hospice shop in Dorking, or be downloaded from www.capel musicfestival.org.uk
Entry fee is £5 per act and there is a £5 entry fee for audience members and supporters (free for under 12s and contestants).
All money raised will go towards supporting St Catherine's Hospice, The Studio ADHD Centre and other local charities.
Anyone wishing to run a stall at the main festival should call Dawn Hinton on 07730 584871.
