HUNDREDS of people packed the inaugural Capel Surrey Vintage Military Vehicle Show at the weekend.
The event was held at Aldhurst Farm, in Temple Lane, on Saturday and Sunday and visitors admired more than 80 different military vehicles from across the globe.
The impressive display included classic vehicles, civil vintage trucks, buses, cars, motorcycles and steam engines.
Visitors were also able to buy wartime memorabilia.
Phil Harris, one of the event organisers, said: "The show was a great success.
"It didn't attract quite as many people as we'd hoped for, what with the Wimbledon singles finals, but everyone had a merry time.
"The kids especially loved the re-enactment groups: we had American soldiers against German ones, firing machine guns at each other, there were loud bangs and it attracted big crowds.
"This was our first show and we definitely want to do it again next year."
The aim of the event was to educate people about military life and all the money raised will be donated to Help for Heroes and Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court.
