SILENT Witness star Amanda Burton dropped in to do a voluntary stint with the Children's Trust last week.
The actress, who has also starred in BBC drama Waterloo Road, spent Friday afternoon designing a new window display for the charity's Reigate store.
Ms Burton, 56, who has been involved with the charity for 14 years, decided to volunteer in the Bell Street store as part of Volunteer Week, which ran from June 1 to 7.
During her couple of hours she designed a summer-themed window for the store, which opened earlier this year.
She said: "I think volunteering on any level is very, very important.
"It is about putting things back into life. In terms of this [volunteering in the shop] it's about networking, meeting each other, getting to know people in the community, it's all very, very important. But volunteering just makes you feel good."
