I T'S taken years but finally Comedy Cottage has managed to book its favourite UK satirist, Nick Revell.
The comedian, actor and radio and TV writer, who headlines at Redhill's Harlequin tomorrow (May 31), has a mantelpiece full of awards and accolades, including BAFTAs, British Comedy Awards, Emmys, Silver Rose of Montreux and Sony Perrier nominee.
His writing credits include Drop the Dead Donkey, Dave Allen, Not the 9 0'Clock News, Alas Smith & Jones, The Nick Revell Show and too many others to mention.
As an actor he's been in Drop the Dead Donkey and Alan Clarke's musical feature film Billy the Kid and the Green Baize Vampire.
Starting out as a writer for topical shows in the late 70s, Nick began performing as a stand-up at the Comedy Store in 1980.
Over the next 12 years he worked on the alternative comedy circuit, made many visits to the Edinburgh Fringe and appeared on countless TV and radio shows.
For the next 10 years he stopped stand-up. During this period he performed two solo theatre shows which went on to tour internationally. He continued to write, including two novels and a stage play.
These days he is back touring as a stand-up and is also co-creator of the topical panel show, No Pressure to be Funny.
Supporting Nick will be Juliet Meyers – whose writing credits include The Sarah Millican Show, 8 out of 10 Cats and Mock the Week – and Ed O'Meara, who has put his pen to The Now Show, Viz and The Huffington Post.
Expect character comedy from the charming Lindsay Sharman and also enjoy laughs from Laughing Boy and Latitude Festival New Act award winner Jimmy Bird.
Britain's Got Talent finalist Lynn Ruth Miller, originally from the US, is still performing in her 70s, while Don Biswas was winner of the London New Comedy Award 2010.
Your MC for the evening is Sajeela Kershi.
