THE most important meal of the day became even more important for students at The Ashcombe School last month.
Tucking into a cooked or continental breakfast, 240 year 10 pupils helped to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
More events during a Charities Week at the school enabled a cheque for £1,000 to be presented to the trust on Tuesday last week.
The mixed secondary school has been supporting the Trust for a number of years.
Serena Parham, assistant to the head teacher, said: "We were delighted to welcome Nigel Revell, the director of education and advocacy at the Teenage Cancer Trust, to the school so that we could present the cheque to him.
"During his visit to the school, he was able to raise awareness of cancer amongst teenagers and give the year group details of how their money would be spent."
