OXTED U18s had to settle for a second place league finish in the Tandridge Youth League following a 1-1 draw against Battersea Lions.
Oxted travelled away for their final game, knowing a win would see them take the Tandridge Youth League, but it was just not meant to be.
Jake Chute headed in from a Connor McGuinness corner to give Oxted an early lead, with the visitors continuing to dominate the play and managing to create several chances.
Injuries meant Oxted were forced into two changes before half- time, but held tight.
Battersea improved in the second-half and were kept at bay until 15 minutes from time when they scored a somewhat scrappy goal.
A Battersea red card saw Oxted go on the all-out attack, however Oxted could not score the necessary second goal to win the game and the league.
Oxted and Battersea finished the season level on points, with Battersea just ahead on number of games won. Oxted were unbeaten in the league since February 2012.

Oxted: Lewis Everett, Charlie Doe, Jack Finley (capt), Jon Heyburn, Ryan Hill, Jake Chute, Connor McGuinness, Harry Dalton, Jack Salmon, James Keeble (Subs: Greg Williams, Jack Burchell, Jonny James, Dave Hill, Ellis Farley).
