FEARS over the future of threatened Epsom Hospital have led concerned Ashtead residents to take action.
Representatives from the review group that has proposed the closure of the A&E and maternity wards at the hospital will attend a meeting organised by Ashtead Residents' Association next week.
The event will take place at the town's Peace Memorial Hall on Tuesday, May 14, at 7.30pm.
The association's press officer, Glynis Peterkin, said: "Residents of Ashtead have long lived in the comfort of having a general hospital on their doorstep and knowing that in an emergency help is nearby.
"Decisions are being taken now that could dramatically affect this."
Members of the BSBV team will give a presentation on their proposals on the night, after which residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and raise any concerns.
