Dozens of trees have been cut down and burnt on a field in Sandcross Lane, Reigate.
Workers have been seen on the site and were photographed earlier today (Thur) removing the large trunks and burning debris on the land.
Smoke has been seen drifting across the nearby streets.
It is not known who the workers are or why they are carrying out the work.
According to residents Reigate and Banstead Borough Council has been informed about the work and it is believed that council officers will be visiting the site.
