AN OAKWOOD School student has been found dead at his Horley home.
Yutao Wang, 14, was discovered in his Hyperion Walk home at about 5pm last Tuesday, April 23.
Police are treating his death as "unexplained" but are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Oakwood head teacher Sue Child said: "We are all deeply shocked and saddened by the untimely death of one of our students, a model pupil who was well-liked and respected and will be much missed.
"Our thoughts are with family and friends at this difficult time, and we are providing all the support we can for our students and staff."
Pupils and members of the school's community took to social networking site Twitter to pay tribute – often using the nickname "Ding Ding".
Vicky Ox posted: "RIP Ding Ding (Yutao) :( Thoughts are with your family."
Caitlin Ann said: "RIP Ding Ding, he was such a lovely boy, and had the rest of his life ahead of him, so upsetting."
Becky Lauren added: "I'm in shock. Such terrible news about a little boy from Oakwood..RIP Ding Ding."
Rebecca Latham said: "No one deserves this, especially him. I wish I could have done something to help sooner. My thoughts go to him and his family. RIP Ding Ding."
Parents at the Balcombe Road school were sent a letter from the head last week, informing them what had happened.
One mother, who asked not to be named, said: "It is very sad.
"The first I knew of it was the letter.
"He wasn't in my daughter's year but it's so sad, you don't expect this.
"I sat my daughter down and spoke to her about it."
