A SERVING Surrey police officer based in Reigate has today been charged with shoplifting more than £150 worth of groceries from a Crawley supermarket.
PC Roger Toms, 41, was charged with theft by colleagues at Sussex Police. He is accused of stealing £153.56 worth of groceries from the supermarket in Hazelwick Avenue on Tuesday April 16.
He was released on bail to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court on Thursday May 9. Surrey Police has suspended him from duty while the case goes through the court process.
